Note I tried all four sticks one at a time, then two sticks at a time on the 3200mhz DOHC setting, and they work fine both sets and its showing 1600mhz in task man. in the parts of the video above where text flickers, those are the only times the black screen occurs.

the flickers happen about 2-5 frames before any keyframe placements. So then I have to manually shut down then back in to bios put back on AUTO and they're back to 933mhz. the black flicker is present in the ram preview.

Then a min after the same thing then eventually the PC shuts down reboots then get blue screen error codes. So everything seems to be working great but after about 5 min the screen starts to flash to black then back to normal. Then save and boot then its showing Ram running at 1600mhz so 3200 when doubled. So then back into bios changed from auto to the DOHC (I think that's what it's called ) anyway and chose my RAM thing that shows my timings. In bios I tried running on auto but the RAM will only run at 933mhz. Same RAM which is the TridentZ Gskills 8gb 3200mhz sticks. (Aside, b/c I don't think I want to go here: I goofed up the links (unless I can find them somewhere, or I could google it again), but I did find one post where the user had this problem (with other AMD hardware involving an ASUS monitor).Hello I recently upgraded my RAM from DDR4 16gb to 32gb. if you can believe what you read on the Internet, that is 🤔 Kind of hate to change it as I'm under the impression that 60 Hz is such a popular sweet spot for making things just right. As I understand it, that is a simple matter of changing it under System Settings > Hardware > Display and Monitor, where I see that 75 Hz is listed as a drop-down option. Then save and boot then its showing Ram running at 1600mhz so 3200 when doubled. If it becomes a bigger problem, I can change the refresh rate as an experiment. This is hard to test because it seems to happen so infrequently. If 75 is the native refresh rate, then perhaps waking from sleep it has to change from that to 60, maybe? => So, that time I did a hard re-boot of the PC and then everything came up OK - I could continue with no problems.Īdvice? Thoughts? Other solutions? Diagnosis/analysis?Ĭlaydoh: If the monitor supports 75 hz, it would be worth trying to set it to that. (b) Another time when I tried this, it gave me a non-flickering screen OK, but my Kubuntu desktop didn’t fully load: the mouse pointer wasn’t working right the Firefox tabs wouldn’t reload I had no panel at the bottom of the screen (showing the K- app launcher or system tray or open apps, etc.) (a) Once, this worked perfectly, and I could continue on with the Kubuntu 20.04 desktop & proceed OK, no problems.

Radeon Software tells me that something happened and the gpu is in safe mode now and i need to reboot to use acceleration. Then save and boot then its showing Ram running at 1600mhz so 3200 when doubled. I enter my PW and it gives me a non-flickering screen, with a twist: The problem is that games crash after an hour or so of gameplay, both monitors go black, main monitor comes back to desktop, discord crashes with it for some reason, and i am able to see the crash bug reports. (3) This also worked, but please keep reading: That worked to get rid of the flickering screen. This has happened 4 times since 12/1/21 (until today 12/26/21).ītw, I CAN log in and continue that way, but with a flickering screen. Kubuntu 20.04.Īfter leaving the PC for awhile, I return, I move the mouse to wake it up the PC, BUT the screen flickers with colorful, blinking patterns of horizontal and vertical colored bars and patterns. I want to throw this out to see if any of you guys have some insights to a problem and maybe can offer 'best' or other fixes for it.
